Brazil's December soy exports rise nearly 44% on-year
Brazilian soy and soy product exports in December rose 43.7% to US$555.2 million compared with the same period in 2009, according to figures Monday (Jan 3) from the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex).
Soy exports alone totalled US$146 million last month, up from US$99 million in December 2009.
In volume, the country shipped 292,600 tonnes of soy in December, 37.8% more than a year before.
Soy meal exports brought in US$358.3 million in December and totalled 881,800 tonnes.
Soy oil shipments, meanwhile, reached US$50.9 million in revenue and 48,600 tonnes in volume.
