Pig prices at record highs in the Netherlands

The current price of pork in the Netherlands has risen to EUR1.75 (US$2.6) per kilo, the highest since 1993, Dutch newspaper Agrarisch Dagblad reported.

Furthermore, the national piglet price index now amounts to EUR53 (US$78), the highest in 10 years, according to the Netherland's Animal Sciences Group (Wageningen University).
