Vietnam quarantines all imported breeding shrimp

National Fisheries Quality Assurance Veterinary Directorate (Nafiqaved) of Vietnam has quarantined all breeding shrimp imported in 2007.

The quarantined shrimp total included 4.7 million breeding black shrimp, 124,000 mother black shrimp, 8,589 mother white-legged shrimp and about 300 fries.

Furthermore, Nafiqaved tightened hygiene and veterinary inspections in all of Vietnam's breeding and aquaculture farms. The agency has pointed how quarantine contributed to the overall success of the aquaculture industry.
