Asia considers poultry imports from Peru
Five new markets--three from Asia--are considering importing poultry meat from Peru this year, announced the Peruvian food inspection agency Senasa on Jan 8.
The country has plans to begin negotiating this year on poultry meat exports to Asian markets such as China, Thailand and Singapore, revealed Peruvian media reports.
Peru would also be exporting poultry meat to the EU in August after EU's approval of poultry imports is likely to be granted later this year.
In the meantime, Costa Rica is expected to approve Peruvian poultry meat imports this week.
