Kyrgyzstan's 2004 Grain Harvest 1.9 Million Tons

Kyrgyzstan harvested 1.9 million tons of grain in 2004, 40,000 tons more than in 2003, an agriculture ministry official said Friday.

The milling wheat harvest was one million tons.

In the 2004-2005 marketing year Kyrgyzstan will have to import 30,000-35,000 tons of milling wheat. The grain is likely to be imported from traditional supplier Kazakhstan, the official said.
