China's fresh meat prices to increase

Due to rising salary and fuel costs, China's wholesale prices of beef and pork are expected to continue going up this year.

In 2012, wholesale prices of fresh beef went up by 37%, public broadcaster reported.

"The current sources of goods are relatively under strain. The demand is greater than the supply. We predict that the price of beef will continue to rise in the future," a representative for Nam Kwong Kok Fong Distribution and Transportation Ltd said.
