Australia sees rising beef exports to South East Asia

Australia has seen a rise in beef exports to the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand during November 2012.

Beef exports to the Philippines reached 3,328 tonnes, up 72%, shipments to Singapore hit to 1,288 tonnes, up 8%, and export volumes to Thailand for the month were up 3% on-year to 152 tonnes. Shipments to Taiwan in November 2012 remained relatively steady on the corresponding month the year before, at 3,832 tonnes. However, exports to Hong Kong fell 62% on-year, to 604 tonnes - the fifth consecutive monthly decline. Exports to Malaysia and Vietnam also contracted in November 2012, falling to 1,530 tonnes, down 11% on-year, and 195 tonnes, down 14% on-year, respectively. Exports to Indonesia for the month were down 9% on-year, to 3,558 tonnes.
