Minh Hai Seafood jumpstarts 2008 with more prawn exports to the US

Vietnam-based Minh Hai Joint Stock Seafood Processing Company (Seaprodex Minh Hai) exported 16 tonnes of tiger prawn to the US, gaining sales of US$250,000 at the start of 2008.

The company also closed a long-term partnership with a US company for the supply of 10 to 15 containers of processed shrimp each month, the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers reported.

Minh Hai generated an export turnover of US$58 million in 2007, director Tran Thien Hai confirmed.

It mostly exports tiger prawns to offshore customers like the US, Korea and China.
