Brazil new soy crop sales increase to 34 percent

Brazilian soybean producers sold 34 percent of an estimated new crop of 56 million tonnes by Jan 5, up from 32 percent sold last week, private analysts Celeres said on Monday, Jan 8.

The no. 1 soy state Mato Grosso reported selling 46 percent of its expected crop, up from 44 percent last week but behind the 56 percent a year ago.

Sales in southern Brazil however, still have a long way to go with another leading soy state Parana selling only 21 percent of their expected crop. This was just a one-point increase from last week and behind the 25 percent sold a year ago at this time.
