Chile's forestry and farming exports up in 2006
Chile's forestry and farming exports rose by 11 percent year-on-year to US$9.05 billion in 2006, according to a report of the country's Ministry of Agriculture.
Exports of agricultural products alone stood at US$4.45 billion in the period, with livestock and livestock products accounting for US$800 million, Agriculture Minister, Alvaro Rojas, said.
Chile exports pork, poultry meat and dairy products.
Almost a third of Chilean forestry and farming exports in the period went to the US.
A 2.5 percent increase in export value is expected for 2007, according to the country's Ministry of Agriculture.
