AKVA to build salmon recirculation hatchery in Chile

AKVA group has signed a contract with Sealand Aquaculture S.A. to build a complete new salmon recirculation hatchery in Chile's 10th region.

This system is the second recirculation system to be delivered to Sealand Aquaculture S.A. The first system was delivered last year.

The new system has a capacity to produce six million smolts annually in five cycles of 1.2 million smolts. The system utilises both freshwater and saltwater sources to create an optimal fish production environment through all stages of the process from egg to smolt with high biosecurity standards.

The contract value is approximately NOK32 million (US$5.6 million).
