Viterra to upgrade northeast Saskatchewan facility
Viterra Inc. has announced a C$1.8 million (US$1.74 million) facility expansion and programme enhancement that will benefit farm customers in Carrot River and surrounding communities in northeast Saskatchewan.
Viterra will increase its fertiliser storage and blending throughput at the Carrot River facility, in addition to increasing its chemical and seed storage capacity. The upgrades will provide Viterra's customers with greater convenience and better access to an expanded line of programmes and services.
Viterra has been investing in opportunities that leverage its core strengths in agri-products and grain handling and marketing. This includes strategic acquisitions and capital upgrades and maintenance.
Construction work on the Carrot River expansion is scheduled to begin in early 2010.
