Queensland poised to increase beef exports
Australia's Queensland state is ready to capitalise on the rising beef demand in Southeast Asia.
Around 250,000 head of cattle are expected to be processed through the Charters Towers Saleyards this year before heading to export.
Charters Towers Mayor Ben Calcott said the council recognises the importance of the industry and will work with exporters and graziers to ensure the region reaps the benefits.
