Agricultural products prices start to stabilise in China
China has kept prices in its agricultural products wholesale market in check despite a snowstorm hitting the country's northern areas on Sunday (Jan 3).
Prices for agricultural products such as pork and eggs in some major cities including Beijing, Tianjin, and Wuhan increased following the snowstorm, but they began to decline on Tuesday (Jan 5) as transportation resumed after the temperature rebounded, said an official from the Ministry of Agriculture.
The ministry has devoted efforts to anti-disaster work, including restoring the damaged greenhouses and guiding farmers in improving plant management measures, so as to ensure steady production and supply of the agricultural products.
