OCA feels cloning could help beef industry

 

 

Even as the Food and Drug Administration in the US has confirmed cloned food to be safe for consumption, president of the Ontario Cattlemen's Association feels consumers would eventually decide so.

 

Ian McKillop considers the cloning technology useful but feels much of its use has to be accepted by the consumers.

 

If the cost of cloning were to come down, it could bring key genetic traits into more cattle across the country, he said adding a lot of that was already being done by things like genetic proofing.
