Korea To Engage In Beef-Resumption Trade Talk With Canada

The Canadian Agriculture Minister Bob Speller will travel to South Korea in an attempt to convince his Korean counterpart to lift the current ban on Canadian beef.

During the meeting, Speller is expected to explain the safety of Canadian beef in an attempt to persuade South Korean Agriculture and Forestry Minister Huh Sang-man to move to relax the ban on Canadian beef, according to officials.

"The agenda has yet to be set but they are likely to discuss the beef issue," a ministry official said, asking to remain anonymous.
