Subdued demand softens China methionine prices
Prices of methionine moved lower during the week ending January 5.
Methionine availability remained tight, prompting producers to stand firm. Nonetheless, demand softened as feed millers were reluctant to stockpile high inventories while the broiler market remained soft. Consequently, prices softened amid light trade.
Price quotes of imported dl-methionine were softer in the range of RMB31.50-32.50/kg.
