Stable demand supports China methionine market
Prices were marginally higher during the week ended January 3.
Price quotes of imported dl-methionine inched up to the range of RMB29.50-30/kg, while transacted prices were at RMB28.40-28.80/kg.
Demand was stable as feed millers stocked inventories with animal population expanding steadily. Nonetheless, trade was limited due to the festive holidays.
Feed demand is expected to rise gradually due to higher releases of animals in the weeks prior to Chinese New Year. Methionine market is therefore seen stable in the coming period.
