Seven Mexican states will face red meat shortage in 2013, industry warns

Seven Mexican states will be affected by a red meat shortage in 2013 due to rising exports and a high cattle slaughter rate.

According to the Mexican Ministry of Agriculture, from 2008 to 2012, Mexico's cattle exports to the US grew by 280% -- to 83 million head from just 29 million head.
