Tanzania sees 3.4% drop in cattle supply during December 2012

 

 

Cattle supply at the Pugu market in Tanzania dropped slightly by 3.4% in December 2012.

 

The Ministry of Industry and Trade monthly report shows that the average sales per day dipped to 731 cattle in December compared to the previous month. According to the report, the prices for the mature cattle grade (G2) increased 5.1% in month under review, from November last year.

 

Likewise, the prices for the grade (G3) female cattle jumped to US$304, in December.

 

The value of the male cattle grade (G2) rises 3.1% in the period under review compared to November.

 

The average sales per market day for sheep dropped 28.1% in December from November.

 

The prices for the mature sheep dropped 3.3%.
