Threonine prices stayed stable during early December but softened after middle of the month. Although a major producers stood firm, maintaining a high price quote of RMB13.50/kg, most producers readily cut prices as export demand weakened. Moreover, softer corn prices lowered the production costs of threonine, helping producers to negotiate prices.

In Europe, price quotes of Chinese products for Q1 and early Q2 deliveries after tax were at EUR1.50-1.56/kg.

Overseas demand for threonine is expected to be soft in the near term as most buyers have sufficient supplies. Threonine market will likely remain weak as a result.
