Norway asks EU to postpone non-organic feed material ban

Officials of Norway has requested from the EU to postpone a regulation that would ban all non-organic raw materials in organic concentrated feed for another three years.

The cause is the difficulty to find some of the raw materials in organic form. The feed producers that want to mix up to 5% of non-organic materials in the organic feed now have to apply for approval at the organic produce organisation Debio, however.

The ban of non-organic raw material has been postponed until at least 2015.
