Darling acquires rendering business

 

 

Darling International Inc. has completed its acquisition of certain rendering, grease collection and trap servicing business from Sanimax USA Inc.

 

The acquisition includes all of Sanimax's rendering, grease collection and trap servicing business in the states of Indiana and Ohio.

 

In addition, Darling acquired certain of Sanimax's collection routes in Pennsylvania and the lower part of Michigan. The addition of these processing locations and routes will help Darling fill out its national footprint and better serve its customers, said chairman and CEO Randall Stuewe.

 

Darling International Inc. is the largest publicly traded, food processing byproducts recycling company in the US. It recycles used restaurant cooking oil and byproducts from the beef, pork and poultry processing industries into useable products such as tallow, feed-grade fats, meat and bone meal and hides.
