China methionine market shows signs of stabilising
Prices of methionine were stable to lower during the week ending January 5.
Liquid methionine price quotes stayed in the range of RM33-40/kg.
Broiler prices strengthened considerably over the past few weeks, boosting the confidence of poultry feed producers to increase stockpiles of methionine in preparation for pre-Chinese New Year market in the coming weeks. In efforts to move sales, methionine sellers continued to cut prices but more cautiously.
Improving pre-festive demand will lend support to the market, helping to stabilize prices gradually.
