Bidding of grain export licenses start in Ukraine

 

 

Ukraine's Economic Development and Trade Ministry started accepting bids for getting licenses for grain export within the frames of quotas set by the Cabinet till March 31, 2011.


According to the renewed procedure for the issue of grain export licenses, distribution of the quotas is carried out on the basis of bids submitted to the Ministry by the economic entity over seven calendar days (earlier it was 15 calendar days) following the official publication of the start of the bids' registration.


On November 12, 2010, the Commission on quotas for agricultural products has distributed quotas for export of 500,000 tonnes of wheat, 200,000 tonnes of barley and 1.481 million tonnes of corn.


By its resolution of October 4, the Cabinet has introduced the quota for grain export to the amount of 2.7 million tonnes till 2011, a quota for wheat export made up 500,000 tonnes, corn - 2,000 tonnes, barley - 200,000 tonnes, rye and buckwheat - by 1,000 tonnes.


By the resolution of December 6, the Cabinet has prolonged quotas for grain crops export till March 31, 2011 (inclusive) and has increased the quota volume for wheat export from 0.5 million tonnes to 1 million tonnes, corn - from two to three million tonnes.
