Iowa poultry plant to process chicken

Custom Poultry Processing LLC, Iowa-based poultry processor, has received a US$250,000 state loan to acquire a food processor plant and remodel it for poultry harvesting, processing and packaging.

The Iowa Economic Development Board awarded the funding to the company to assist in acquiring the former Allstate Quality Foods plant in Charles City and convert it to process fresh chicken for speciality markets.

The facility is expected to process more than 14 million chickens annually.
