Australian farmers experience mixed results from grain harvest

South Australian farmers have finished harvesting their grain crops with mixed results being reported across the state.

An unprecedented heat wave that occurred on November last year has ruined some crops in the south-east and mid-north, while other regions recorded one of the biggest yields.

Peter White, president of the South Australian Farmers Federation, said there was an improvement over the recent years despite the mixed fortunes.

Meanwhile, some of the better rainfall areas have been impacted badly from the adverse effects of heat wave along with the rain.
