India corn futures lower on poor demand
India's corn futures opened lower on Monday due to weak demand and a fall in Chicago corn, said analysts.
Domestic corn demand fell after bird flu was detected in three Indian states in November, said analysts. Corn is used as poultry feed.
US corn futures fell nearly 1.5 percent on Monday as demand concerns hurt price increases seen last month.
At 10.45 am, most-active April corn NMZJ9 on the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange fell 1.11 percent to Rs805 (US$16.6) per kg.
