Korean November Beef Imports Fall 8%

Korean beef imports fell 8% in November compared to October with imports totalling 26,460 tonnes. 

However, this represented a 9% increase on November last year.  The value of imports during November remained at a similar level to the previous month, at US$94.56 million.

Imports of Australian beef increased by 1% compared to October to 5,226 tonnes, while US imports fell by around 7% to 19,058 tonnes.  The volume of imports from Australia was down 30% on November 2002.  

Conversely, US imports were up by 30%, mainly due to the US shipping strike which commenced in October last year and resulted in abnormally low imports during November 2002.
