Dutch parliament extends swine fever vaccination

The vaccination circle, which takes effect during an outbreak of classical swine fever, has been extended to 2 kilometre as proposed by Dutch agriculture minister Gerda Verburg.

The extension was based on recent studies by the Animal Sciences Group and agricultural-economic institute LEI which found out that vaccination of all swine facilities in a larger circle is more effective.
