Pakistan's Karachi sees no bird flu risk

 

 

There is no looming bird flu scare in Karachi as its municipal administration considered health facilities provision to citizens as its chief concern, said administrator Karachi Muhammad Hussain Syed.

 

He stated this while addressing a meeting regarding bird flu, attended by senior director medical services Nasir Javed and other health department officials.

 

Administrator said KMC took timely initiative to control dengue fever by launching fumigation in the entire city. He awareness programs of bird flu were being arranged for citizens.

 

Dr Javed said that World Health Organization had declared Pakistan Bird flu-free, whereas through standard vaccination and samples after survey suggested no case of bird flu in Karachi and its nearby areas were reported. He said committee had also been constituted for taking necessary measures if any of such cases report in the city.
