Estonia's Sojatehas considers large-scale soy processing plant
Sojatehas Ltd., has submitted preliminary drafts for building a soy processing plant at the northern coast of Estonia.
The Port of Sillamäe on Estonia's northern coast may become home to a EUR29-million (US$38.6 million) soy processing plant, if the results of a January 12 environmental impact hearing are positive.
Sojatehas Ltd., which submitted preliminary drafts for the plant, is also waiting for a green light from the port.
If the project is approved, the facility would produce biofuel and edible oil, as well as animal feed, with the capacity to process 500,000 tonnes of soy per year. The raw materials would be imported from South America.
