DT Cremer buys GfT's animal health subsidiary

Dusseldorf-based Deutsche Tiernahrung Cremer GmbH (DT Cremer) bought the animal health subsidiary of Gelita AG (GfT), a global manufacturer of gelatine products.

The acquisition of GfT gives Cremer good opportunities for innovations in animal feeding and development of feeding concepts on a broader basis. Also for the export of special products both firms want to closely operate.

GfT is among Germany's mineral feed manufacturers with operations in Wildeshausen and Memmingen. The company also helps livestock farmers formulate diets for swine and ruminants.

Deutsche Tiernahrung Cremer is the result of the merger between deuka Deutsche Tiernahrung and Cremer Feedmills, which took place some months ago.

GfT and DT Cremer's business however remains unchanged as they will remain operating independently in their markets.
