Germany and Tanzania to enter beef joint venture
The Tanzania Annual Meat Council (TAMC) plans to enter into a joint venture with the German African Association for a beef slaughterhouse and export plant.
The partnership will open a global export market and expand the countries' global network, said TAMC chairman Evarist Maembe.
Discussions and visits to European processing plants have been going on for some time, as Tanzania lacks the experience and expertise required in beef production, said Maembe.
Maembe has called on the government for support in training a workforce so as to benefit from the venture.
