Ukraine's November pig population falls 3%
 

 

As of December 1, 2011, Ukraine's November pig population fell by 2.9% or 231,600 heads compared with October, to 7,835,800 heads, the State Statistics Service has reported.

 

Pig population decreased by 2.8% or 126,400 head compared to October, to 4,441,800 heads in private farms, and by 3% or 105,200 heads to 3,394,000 heads in specialised farms.

 

The pig population went down by 5.5% or 455,900 heads against November 1, 2010.

 

Specifically, pig population fell by 8.6% or 318,100 heads in specialised farms, and by 3% or 137,800 heads in private farms.

 

As of November 1, the pig population in October shrank by 0.8% or 67,100 heads compared with September, to 8,067,400 heads.
