Batavia, NY - The prospect of a stimulus bill caused dairy markets to swing this week. After news came out the passage of the bill was "imminent," barrel cheese prices shot up 15.25 cents and blocks, 9.75 cents. Butter caught a modest bid, rising 4.50 cents. But then the "unthinkable" happened: President Trump threatened to veto the bill. And with that, cheese prices gave up their gains. As of writing, the future of the stimulus bill is uncertain.
