Croatia favours imported pork over domestic pork
The president of the association of pig breeders, Stjepan Kusec, says that Croatia prefers imports over domestic production even though local animals are not fed by genetically modified feed.
As a result, local pig farmers have suffered, reports Vecernji List.
Separately, pork will have the central spot on many Croatian family's holiday tables. According to Branko Bobetic from GIU Croatiastocar, 600% more young pigs are slaughtered in December than in any other month.
