An eFeedLink Exclusive
Price summary
Prices were mostly stable.
Market analysis
AA broiler
Prices of AA broiler were modestly higher by 0.39% as the demand for chicken products continued to improve with New Year holidays approaching.
While farmers withheld chick purchases, prices tumbled further, settling in the range of RMB0.55-1/bird.
China breed broiler
China breed broiler market remained firm in the north, but weakened in the south with supplies of contract chicken abundant. In Guangdong, prices plunged 7.5% as demand was exceptionally slack.
Day-old chick prices stayed stable at low levels as hatcheries stood firm amid paltry returns.
Market forecast
Supplies of broiler are projected to increase in the coming week, limiting the upward scope of broiler markets. AA broiler prices should stay stable with pre-festive sales steady, but native broiler market is expected to soften on slow sales.
