Methionine market stays soft in China despite broiler price rebound

Prices of methionine were stable to lower during the week ending December 27.

Although prices of broiler recovered of late, the rebound was a weak one, failing to boost the confidence of feed millers. Poultry feed demand continued to remain limited as a result, hampering the sales of methionine together with low piglet feed production.

Price quotes of imported dl-methionine were mainly around RMB26.50/kg, lower by RMB0.50-1/kg.

RMB1=US$0.1439 (Dec 27)
