As of the end of the 2011/2012 marketing year (July 2011 - August 2012), the parliament of Ukraine, Verkhovna Rada, anticipates grain carryover at the level of 9.1 million tonnes.

This is disclosed in the programme on socioeconomic development for 2012 endorsed by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

According to the document, grain production this year is expected at the level of 53.633 million tonnes.

Remainder as of early July made up 6.225 million tonnes.

The consumption fund this marketing year is estimated at 6.697 million tonnes.

This marketing year, export is estimated at 23.198 million tonnes.

On December 22, 2011, the parliament approved the programme on socioeconomic development for 2012.

Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food Supplies said that as of December 15, 2011, winter crop sowings made up 8,265,300 hectares.
