Ukrainian winter crop in poor condition

Nearly 2.5 million hectares of winter crops sowings are in an unsatisfactory condition, according to Sergei Kvasha, a representative from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

According to him, the grain crops are in a poor condition because of the recent rains.

As a reminder, due to adverse weather conditions, losses of winter grain crops may cover the areas of two million ha.

By late November 2011, Ukraine sowed winter grains throughout 8.05 million ha.
