Kazakhstan's 2012 grain crop seen at normal level

 

 

In 2012, grain yield level in Kazakhstan will be at the average annual level for the last five years, said experts from the Agro-meteorology Department at the Kazakhstan Research Institute of Ecology and Climate.

 

The severe drought of 2010 was replaced by a rather favourable 2011, which is in accordance with the dominating regional scenario for the interchange of anomalous weather.

 

Taking into account the rising trend in the level and efficiency of cultivation of grain crops - if current sown areas maintain their current level, overall grain production in Kazakhstan in 2012 is expected at 21±3 million tonnes, according to the Financial.
