China's Liaoning province hits grain harvest record high
China's Liaoning province has produced 18.6 million tonnes this year, up 1.4 percent from last year, said the Liaoning survey group of the National Bureau of Statistics.
Liaoning is China's major grain producing area, and has achieved bumper harvest for five years running.
The average yield of corn increased 5.17 kg to 70 kg per acre, while the planting area of corn in 2008 reached 1.647 million acres.
