Suppliers' quotes
Low-protein whey prices in the US soared to US$1,243/tonne.
Market analysis
Despite strengthening global market, China's whey prices sank further as waning piglet feed consumption took a toll on whey demand, while some traders continued to cut prices to raise cash.
Market forecast
Whey market should maintain weak momentum into year-end, unless pre-Lunar New Year restocking demand picks up soon.
