Canadian wheat production may increase

Canadian wheat production may total to 25.3 million tonnes in the year that began August 1, according to the Canadian Agriculture Ministry.

This has increased from last month's estimate of 24.2 million and output last year of 23.2 million tonnes.

The harvest excluding durum wheat may total 21.1 million tonnes, above last month's forecast and more than the 20.1 million tonnes produced a year earlier, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada said. Production of durum, used to make pasta, may total 4.2 million tonnes, compared with three million last year.
