Brazil's Perdigao to cut Q1 poultry exports by 20 percent

Brazilian meatpacker Perdigao plans to cut its poultry exports by 20 percent in the first quarter of 2009, a Perdigao spokesperson said late Tuesday (Dec 16).

Perdigao will temporarily cut the production of poultry for export to allow for an adjustment in supply and demand, the press officer said.

Measures include closing some factories focused on exports for 20 days as well as reducing the production of eggs.
