Sanxin starts tricalcium phosphate project in Wuhan
Hubei Sanxi Phosphorus Chemical Co., Ltd. (Sanxin) officially started a major tricalcium phosphate (TCP) project in Yichang Economy & Technology Development Zone, Wuhan, Hubei province on November 18.
Sanxin said demand for feed grade calcium phosphates in China will hit the 3 million mark in 2010. Currently, demand in China and regional countries for the feed additive is high.
Sanxin plans to build a 400 000 tonnes per annum (t/a) capacity TCP project and matching phosphorite beneficiation projects with processing capacity of 1.6 million t/a in two phases.
In the first phase, the company has invested RMB160 million (US$23.3 million) for a 100 000 t/a TCP stream and a matching phosphorite beneficiation project with capacity of 600 000 t/a.
Sanxin is a joint venture started by Mitsui & Co., Ltd. of Japan, Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (China) and Shen Nong Jia Mine Co., Ltd. of China, mainly engaged in the business of phosphorizing process including mining and concentrating, and the other mining products.
