Chongqing, China authorities detects COVID-19 coronavirus on imported beef packaging
China's Chongqing municipality, southwest of the country, has detected COVID-19 coronavirus traces from the packaging of imported frozen beef from Argentina, Xinhua News Agency reported.
The city's Gaoxin district COVID-19 prevention and control office said most of the 342 beef products from the same batch has remained in the warehouse. However, 66 products from the same batch has been sold to unspecified districts and counties in the city.
The office said they have launched an emergency response to track the sold products, test workers who are at risk of COVID-19 exposure, as well as clean and disinfect areas where the product was stored.
