Ukraine's Yatran meat factory to augment sausage production by 17.6%

Andrii Raikovych, director general of Yatran meat factory, said that by 2012, the Kirovohrad-based company plans to increase sausage production by 17.6% or 300 tonnes to 2,000 tonnes a month.

He said that at present, the company produces up to 1,700 tonnes of sausage goods a month, about 200 tonnes of semi-finished products, 500-600 tonnes of meat and by-products of the first category.

According to estimations of the company, this year, it will produce market products for about UAH700 million (US$87.3 million).

Raikovych noted that the enterprise produces a line of traditional Ukrainian meat-sausage goods and does not plan to introduce new types of products.

At the same time, new product to be released by Euro 2012 will be Champion frankfurters.

Besides, Raikovych noted that in situation of saturation of the market, all Yatran's products refer to state standards, while many products in the market are not controlled for their quality.

According to the company, its stake in the market is about 7%.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Yatran meat factory finished 2009 with a net profit of UAH11.307 million (US$1.4 million).

The enterprise produces meat, meat products and sausages under the Yatran, Yatranchyk, and Palitra Smaku trademarks.
