Ukrainian grain stockpiles increase by 63%
Ukraine's grain stockpiles totalled 29.3 million tonnes as of December 1, 63% more than the previous year, according to the state statistics office.
Wheat stockpiles rose by 50% to 11.1 million tonnes from 7.4 million tonnes last year, the Kiev-based office said. Corn stocks doubled to 13.9 million tonnes from 6.9 million tonnes a year earlier, according to the statement.
Barley stockpiles increased by 23% to 2.7 million tonnes from 2.2 million tonnes last year. Sunflower seed stocks rose by 6% to 5.6 million tonnes, the office said.
